The app HAS a platform layer -- AnchoredPopover (22 importers, with
arrows/typeahead/Escape/anchor-flip), QueryState (21), Modal (17),
PageShell, DataTable, Tabs, Tooltip and ~26 more -- but it sat flat among
~160 feature components with nothing marking it as one. Several of those
files describe themselves as 'the one place' or 'canonical' and were
still bypassed by hand-rolled markup, because a layer nobody can see is a
layer nobody uses; three separate inventory passes of this codebase
misread it the same way.
Moves the 33 domain-free modules into components/ui/, rewrites the
imports in 89 files, and makes the boundary a lint rule rather than a
convention: inside ui/ a one-level-up import (a feature component) and
any lib/api slice are errors. The rule was verified to fire on both and
to leave generic lib/ helpers alone. README.md states which side of the
line a component belongs on and why.
No behaviour change: 3x tsc, eslint, knip, prettier and 687 vitest tests
all green; no backend file touched.
The header library-scope pill gains two entry points — Playlist and Collection —
next to All/Movies/Shows, a second way into each area (the rail filter is the
other). Picking Playlist shows a grid of the user's playlists (a tile opens that
playlist's view); Collection shows a searchable grid of collections (a tile
filters the title grid by that collection). Pure front-end — reuses the existing
plexPlaylists / plexCollections(union) list endpoints.
Two new top-level sub-views (`playlists` / `collections`, bookmarkable as
?v=playlists / ?v=collections) rendered by PlexBrowse via the new plexBrowseLists
surfaces (hue-tiled like the Discover genre tiles). The PlexViewBridge now carries
the view `kind`; PlexScopeToggle is a 5-way that derives its active segment from
it (browse-mode when in one, else scope) and drives the two views through the
bridge — picking a scope from a browse mode returns to the title grid. The
Discover/Browse toggle hides in these modes; Backspace + the search→grid flip
cover them.
Tests: PlexScopeToggle (5-way + browse-mode drive/active), plexSubUrl round-trip
for the two new views. Gate: tsc/lint/knip/prettier + 402 vitest.
Move the two "what am I browsing" controls out of the filter sidebar to where
they're always in reach, matching the Feed's layout:
- Library scope (both/movie/show) → a compact SegmentedToggle in the header next
to the search box (new PlexScopeToggle, reads the same provider state).
- Sort → a SortControl in the row above the cards (into the PageToolbar band,
count on the left, sort on the right), like the Feed.
Sidebar cleanup: drop the `scope` and `sort` island cards; the panel badge now
counts only the filters still in the panel (expanded filters + watch-state);
remove the now-unused sort imports. panelLayout drops both from the default plex
order (stale saved-layout keys are auto-filtered, so existing layouts degrade
cleanly). usePlexActiveFilters no longer emits a sort chip — sort is an
always-visible control now, not a removable narrowing (same as the Feed).
FE-only, no backend/migration. typecheck + eslint clean; 171 vitest green;
self-E2E verified (header scope drives the grid, sort control reorders, sidebar
no longer shows the two cards, no sort chip).
