The demo account — one shared user that whitelisted emails entered from
the login page, reset on a schedule — goes end to end (owner decision,
E34): demo.py and the reset job, users.is_demo and demo_whitelist
(migration 0098 deletes the demo user, its audit rows, the reset job's
override and notices, then drops the column and table; the downgrade
restores the empty schema), the /auth/demo entry, the admin whitelist and
reset, the Demo tab, the banner, the login page's "Try the demo", and
every is_demo branch in routes, userscope, scheduler and the UI.
require_human only ever refused the demo account, so its 87 uses become
current_user (owner-approved); require_write_scope keeps its own check.
The login page's "or" divider now shows only beside the Google button:
without the demo entry under it, an instance without Google would have
said "or" to nothing.
A contract test (removedFeatures) fails on the word anywhere in the
backend, frontend, e2e or scripts — seen red on a planted hit. Size
ceilings tightened for the modules that shrank; admin.py is back under
the limit.
- Nav rail page rows are real links (/?page=<id>): a middle-click or
Ctrl-click opens the page in a new tab; a plain click stays in-app.
- A fresh channel page shows the unwatched videos; a picked watch state
is a remembered preference (channelShow).
- Users: the role, suspend and delete move into the row's one menu
(the "…", right-click, Shift+F10); locked ones keep their reason.
- Audit log: back-to-back successful runs of one job fold into one row
that opens to the earlier ones; a failed run reads in the danger colour.
- DESIGN.md decision log: the E31 picks.
- audit log: a job run named from its result data (nested phases too), a skipped run says so, a
secret's reset reads as a reset, choices named as Configuration names them, interval / batch /
counts localized; the inbox shares the same jobRunText
- HU: remux is "Közvetlen közvetítés" (it shared "Közvetlen lejátszás" with direct play); backfill is
behúzás, enrich is dúsítás, collection is kollekció, the allow-list is fehérlista; the last
"jobnak" / "transzkódolás"; a test holds the options of one choice to distinct names
- contract: every skipped / reason word a job returns is named in both languages
- person page: the bio wait is timed from the open and a failing ask stops the polling; ClampedText
(ui) shared with the collection page, whose short summary lost its dead More
- a playlist names season 0 the Specials; the channel re-slot compares in the reader's alphabet; an
invite's date is in the admin's language; the language-ordered lists are asked again once a
language switch is saved (saveLanguage)
- poster grids' column minimum in rem; lint refuses minmax(Npx,…)
The audit log showed the server's fixed English lines ("rss_poll: ok — new=5, failed=0",
"log_level = DEBUG", "Background sync paused") to a Hungarian reader. The details are rebuilt from the
row's data on the client: a job run names the job and its result as the inbox does, a config change
names the field and its values (on/off, grouped counts, "default"), a pause/resume adds nothing the
action does not say. A failed run keeps its error text (diagnostic). parseSummary reads enrich's bare
count ("50") back as `enriched`, as the server's `_result_data` names it — the audit and old notices
keep only the one-liner. No backend change; old rows render too.
The owner's picks (all the recommended options) become DESIGN.md's Copy
chapter and a sweep of both languages (742 values, no key drift):
- One name per feature: the rail's label, which may shorten it (Alerts
-> Notifications, Fiókok -> Felhasználók, Download Center -> Downloads,
Channel manager -> Channels); one "sync from YouTube" verb.
- Four verbs, four meanings (Delete / Remove / Dismiss / Discard, and
their Hungarian pairs), checked against what each action does.
- Sentence case, the app's places capitalised; "…" on a command that
asks first (a popover or form title got its own key without it);
one-sentence messages without a stop or a tick, "Couldn't …"; curly
quotes.
- Dates only from lib/format.ts, in the UI language: formatDateTime
names the month and stops at the minute (it printed "9/27/2026,
8:30:14 AM"), formatDateTimeSec for the log, the audit and the
recorder; ui/RelativeTime pairs "3d ago" with the exact minute on
hover. local/date-format refuses toLocale*String and Intl date
formatters elsewhere.
- Units from Intl, short (formatUnit): runtimes, totals, the Scheduler
countdown, the stats range, the player's tap skip. "2h 13m" was
English in both languages.
- src/i18n/copyRule.test.ts holds the machine-readable part (quotes,
"...", ticks, bare unit letters).
The app HAS a platform layer -- AnchoredPopover (22 importers, with
arrows/typeahead/Escape/anchor-flip), QueryState (21), Modal (17),
PageShell, DataTable, Tabs, Tooltip and ~26 more -- but it sat flat among
~160 feature components with nothing marking it as one. Several of those
files describe themselves as 'the one place' or 'canonical' and were
still bypassed by hand-rolled markup, because a layer nobody can see is a
layer nobody uses; three separate inventory passes of this codebase
misread it the same way.
Moves the 33 domain-free modules into components/ui/, rewrites the
imports in 89 files, and makes the boundary a lint rule rather than a
convention: inside ui/ a one-level-up import (a feature component) and
any lib/api slice are errors. The rule was verified to fire on both and
to leave generic lib/ helpers alone. README.md states which side of the
line a component belongs on and why.
No behaviour change: 3x tsc, eslint, knip, prettier and 687 vitest tests
all green; no backend file touched.
The ~124 px-frozen text-[Npx] labels didn't track the Settings font-scale slider
while their rem-sized neighbours did. Add text-2xs (0.6875rem) / text-3xs
(0.625rem) font-size-ONLY tokens (no paired line-height -> matches the arbitrary
they replace, zero vertical-rhythm shift) and codemod every text-[Npx] to a rem
class (rare 8/9/12/13px -> rem arbitraries).
Also: --hdr-h 68px -> 4.25rem so header content clears the rem-sized pills at
scale 1.3 instead of sliding under; NavSidebar/SidePanel slot widths + their
icon/badge px sizes go rem so the rails keep pace with their (now-scaling)
labels; a w-24/h-[54px] thumb -> h-13.5 to preserve 16:9 at scale. Media
thumbnails, page-width caps and fixed container widths deliberately stay px.
Verified via getComputedStyle at scale 1.06/1.3: text-2xs 11.66->14.3px, header
clearance 72->88px, nav slot 246->302px — all scale proportionally.
Root-fixes the opacity-modifier seed bug behind R10 S0: the theme colors were
bare `var(--x)` hex with no <alpha-value>, so `bg-accent/40`, `ring-accent/40`,
`border-border/60`, `text-muted/70`, … (~99 sites across 45 files) emitted no
CSS rule at all — latent no-ops. v4 implements the opacity modifier via
`color-mix`, so the modifier now works with the existing hex vars, no per-scheme
token duplication needed.
- `npx @tailwindcss/upgrade`: `@tailwind` directives → `@import "tailwindcss"`,
JS config → CSS `@theme` (colors, --font-sans, the z-index tokens preserved),
classname renames (rounded/shadow/blur scale, outline-none→outline-hidden,
ring→ring-2) across 56 files; PostCSS plugin → @tailwindcss/postcss,
autoprefixer removed (v4 prefixes for you).
- `@theme` → `@theme inline` (load-bearing): the color vars are redefined at
runtime under html[data-scheme]/[data-theme]; inline resolves them at the use
site so per-scheme opacity tints track the active scheme (the shadcn v4 pattern).
- Revert one codemod false-positive: it rewrote the English word "rounded" →
"rounded-sm" inside a releaseNotes.ts prose sentence.
Gate green: tsc(app+node) / eslint 0-err / prettier / vitest 79 / knip.
Verified in-browser: bg-accent/15 now computes a scheme-tracking color at 0.15
alpha across all 6 schemes × 2 themes; the hand-rolled glass border/shadow/
radius/backdrop-filter render unchanged under v4.
Review follow-ups on the tier-shift fix. The table moves to a module-level
RELATIVE_UNITS: it is constant, so rebuilding it per call was pure garbage on
a path that runs once per rendered timestamp across a virtualized feed.
Its ascending order is load-bearing and was unstated — sorting it largest-first
would make every timestamp under a year read "just now", silently, the same
shape as the bug this branch fixes. It is now documented and asserted, and the
suite derives its tier coverage and translation checks from the table itself
rather than from its own case list, so a new tier cannot slip in uncovered.
The audit log read the empty string for an unreadable date as a value and
rendered a blank cell; it now uses the `|| "—"` idiom the channel table
already uses, so missing and unreadable dates look alike.
A `truncate` (nowrap) cell in the auto-layout DataTable sizes the whole table to
its widest row, so one long summary/change stretched the table past the card and
the row rules bled into the page. break-words keeps every row inside the card.
