eslint now also enforces:
- the React Compiler diagnostics that `recommended` leaves out (todo,
memo-dependencies and ten zero-hit tripwires);
- a description on every suppression, and no blanket disables;
- no focused or skipped tests (vitest and playwright);
- the typed pair no-floating-promises and no-deprecated.
Lint also covers e2e/ and the TypeScript build configs, which `eslint .`
had been skipping in silence.
Every hit is fixed or suppressed inline with a named reason:
- The 31 try statements the compiler cannot lower yet carry a suppression
until S3 rewrites them. Five other compiler skips were plain fixes:
a module counter bumped inside a hook, a ref read in a default
parameter, and a local named like the <section> it renders.
- The real defects behind floating promises are fixed. ChatDock threw at
nobody when the device key store could not be opened. VideoEditor's
play() rejection went unhandled. loadYouTubeApi never rejected, so a
blocked IFrame API left the player on an empty stage forever; it now
fails on a script error or after 15 s, shows its own error with the
way out, and lets the next open try again.
- MutableRefObject, FormEvent and lucide's deprecated brand icon are
replaced. The YouTube glyph now lives in lib/brandIcons.
- The lint-probe harness lets its virtual file names into TypeScript's
default project, so the contract tests still run the real config.
The 43 react-refresh/only-export-components warnings the gate let through meant an edit to a
provider (or AnchoredPopover, Toaster, plexDetailUi, …) could not be hot-swapped: Fast Refresh
reloads a module that also exports hooks or helpers.
- Each provider's contexts, the types its hooks return and the hooks themselves live in a sibling
context module (navigationContext.ts, channelsContext.ts, …); the provider file keeps the
component. loadAccountFilters moved next to the feed filters' defaults (feedFiltersInit.ts),
following navigationInit/playlistsInit.
- Helpers that sat in component files have their own modules: welcomeMode, downloadTitle,
plexPlayable, channelSync, ui/anchoredPopoverHooks, ui/pageToolbarSlot, ui/pagerContent,
ui/toastLevels, ui/overlayOrder, ui/tableAlign, lib/plexDetail; the cells of the channel columns
and the registry's page wrappers are components files of their own (channelCells, modulePages).
- usePersistedTab, an alias of useAccountPersistedState, is gone; its callers use the original.
npm run lint is now eslint --max-warnings 0, so a warning fails the gate like an error does.
Deep-review R6 — the small items:
- The video card's channel name was still a <button> (pre-existing): ctrl/middle-click did nothing
there while the title above it and the player's channel name honoured them. It renders through
ChannelNameLink now, which grew a forwarded ref (the clamp measurement), pass-through attributes,
a `tooltip`, and an opt-in `stopPropagation` so no click reaches the card's row.
- ChannelNameLink rendered an empty, still-tabbable <a> for a channel with no title yet (a stub first
seen through a live search; pre-existing at this site). It falls back to the translated "Channel".
- The feed's SortKey→SortOption mapping existed twice in Feed.tsx; one `feedSortOptions` in
feedSort.ts serves both modes (DIRECTIONLESS is module-private again).
- The backfill refresh's comment claimed a one-page cost. It refetches every loaded page of the
grid, and that is the right price: backfilled videos are older, so they land below the head.
Tests for call sites that could be deleted with every lane green: the channel page running the
backfill refresh (knip had been blinded by the hook test's import), Feed handing the grid the live
results in the chosen key AND direction, the card using the link. Plus the alt-click arm of the shared
click predicate, and a plex filter-chip test that claimed it made no request while firing a real one.
Verified on localdev: the feed's channel names are anchors (same 14 px muted look), a plain click
opens the channel in-app. 7 mutations, each red on its assertion.
