The tag 'Match: Any/All' toggle was a single GLOBAL setting that only ever
affected topics, shown as its own row under the Topic widget. Make it
per-category — language, topic, and 'your tags' each get their own independent
any/all — and move it into each filter combobox's popover footer (like
SortControl's direction segment), reclaiming the standalone Match row.
Backend: the feed query already groups selected tags by category; replace the
single tag_mode with per-category tag_mode_language/topic/other params and apply
the conjunctive (HAVING all) branch per category. Mirrored across filtered_query,
feed_summary.passes(), and the /facets drill-down exclusion (kept in lockstep;
equivalence test updated to tag_mode_topic). No schema change.
Frontend: FeedFilters.tagMode -> tagModes {language,topic,other} (pure leaf
lib/api/tagModes with a coerceTagModes migration for the legacy global value);
serialized to the API and the shareable URL per category (legacy ?tagmode=and
still resolves into the topic slot); saved-view blobs migrate on read. Combobox
gains an optional matchMode/onMatchModeChange footer segment, shown once 2+
values are picked; the three tag comboboxes wire it to their category.
Verified: backend feed tests green (12, incl. the count/facets equivalence net);
live, the footer appears at 2+ selections, toggles aria-pressed, serializes
tagmode_topic=and to the URL, and the request carries tag_mode_topic=and (200).

Move the last four inline domains out of lib/api.ts into per-domain slices,
each owning its types + method slice. The barrel now holds ZERO endpoint logic
and zero types of its own — it only re-exports core's HTTP machinery, re-exports
each domain's types, and spreads the 15 slices into the single `api` object.
A new endpoint therefore has nowhere to land but a domain module. The `api`
shape and all call sites are unchanged (every req/beacon call byte-identical
to dev; no method dropped, no key collision).
Move feed, channels, sync, playlists, tags, notifications, saved-views and
quota out of the lib/api.ts god object into per-domain slice modules, each
owning its own types + method slice and spread into the façade. The `api`
object shape and all 54 call sites are unchanged; account/auth/setup/admin
stay inline until S2.
Reunites the interleaved tags read/CRUD that motivated the epic.
The catalog only stores the recent-backfill/RSS subset of a channel's uploads (video_count is
YouTube's raw total), so a subscribed channel looked like it was "missing" videos. Now the channel
page header shows "{stored} / {total} videos" when there's a gap, and a "Full history" action queues
the deep backfill (the same deep_requested trigger the channel manager uses) — showing a loading
state until done. Backend: channel_detail now returns deep_requested/backfill_done.
The S3b api.ts split introduced 5 exported-but-never-imported types
(PlaylistKind/PlaylistSource, DownloadJobKind, YT internal option/data shapes).
The publish gate's knip lane flagged them (my per-step checks ran tsc/eslint/
prettier/vitest but not knip). They're used inside their own modules by the
interfaces, so make them local (consumers compare against literals, never name
the type).
- barrel re-exports domains with `export type *` (not `export *`) so the
internal downloadsApi/plexApi/messagingApi slices stay behind the façade;
plex's runtime value exports (EMPTY_PLEX_FILTERS/plexFilterCount) re-exported
explicitly
- App.tsx: drop the now-redundant `prefs as Record<string, unknown>` self-cast
(Me.preferences is already that type) and its `prefsRec` alias
- plex.ts: comment why plexSetState keeps its status union inline (reusing
VideoStatus would make an api.ts↔plex.ts type cycle)
Behaviour-identical. Gate green: typecheck, eslint 0, prettier, 74 vitest.
The E2EE direct-message types (MessageUser/Message/Conversation/MyKeyBundle/
KeySetup) + the ~9 messaging methods move into a self-contained
api/messaging.ts exporting a `messagingApi` slice (imports only core's req).
api.ts spreads the slice and re-exports the types. api.ts 882 -> 819 lines; no
runtime change. Gate green: typecheck, eslint, prettier, 74 vitest.
All Plex types (browse cards, show/season/item details, collections, native
playlists, filters/facets, watch-link) + EMPTY_PLEX_FILTERS/plexFilterCount/
appendPlexFilters + the ~40 plex methods move into a self-contained api/plex.ts
exporting a `plexApi` slice (imports only core's req/beacon). api.ts spreads the
slice and re-exports the types via `export *`. api.ts 1352 -> 882 lines (halved
from the original 1793); no runtime change. Gate green: typecheck, eslint,
prettier, 74 vitest.
The download-center types (DownloadJob/Spec/Profile/EditSpec/ShareLink/... and
the admin storage/quota shapes) + all ~30 download methods move into a
self-contained api/downloads.ts exporting a `downloadsApi` slice. api.ts spreads
the slice into the `api` façade and re-exports the types via `export *`, so the
53 call sites are unchanged. Cleanly separable — the domain's types reference
only each other and its methods only touch core's req/getActiveAccount. api.ts
1583 -> 1352 lines; no runtime change. Gate green: typecheck, eslint, prettier,
74 vitest.
First step of splitting the api.ts god module behind its façade. Move req,
HttpError, localizeDetail, the connectivity toast, ReqConfig, the per-tab
active-account plumbing (getActiveAccount/setActiveAccount/clearActiveAccount/
beacon), setupHeaders, and setUnauthorizedHandler into lib/api/core.ts. api.ts
imports the machinery it uses and re-exports the public surface, so the 53 call
sites importing from "./api" are unchanged. api.ts 1793 -> 1583 lines; no
runtime change (pure move). Gate green: typecheck, eslint, prettier, 74 vitest.
Removes all 13 remaining `any`s and flips the ESLint rule from off to error so
new ones can't creep back:
- api.ts prefs/data JSON bags: Record<string, any> -> Record<string, unknown>,
narrowed at consumers (App language guard; NotificationsPanel shapes the
notification `data` per type behind its existing typeof guards)
- catch (e: any) -> catch (e) + `e instanceof HttpError` narrowing
(SettingsPanel, SetupWizard, PlexPlayer)
- the YouTube IFrame API boundary: new lib/youtube.ts types (YTPlayer/
YTPlayerEvent/YTNamespace + a Window augmentation) replace the 6 player anys;
tsc surfaced the exact method surface to declare
- NotificationsPanel `t` props: any-options -> i18next TFunction
Gate green: typecheck (app+node+e2e), eslint 0 errors (rule now enforced),
prettier, 74 vitest.
- FeedResponse claimed a required `limit`, but /api/search/youtube never
returns it (only /api/feed does) and nothing in the app reads it. Drop the
field so searchYoutube's Promise<FeedResponse> stops lying; documented for
re-add if a consumer appears.
- pageMeta's hand-written 13-case Page->title switch now derives from the
ModuleDef registry via a new optional `titleKey` (the longer tab title, e.g.
"Channel manager"; falls back to the short nav labelKey). A new page is one
touch (add it to MODULES) instead of also editing a switch. A test pins all
13 title keys byte-identical to the old switch (suite 74).
Video.status, Playlist.kind/source (+ PlaylistDetail), DownloadJob.job_kind
were bare `string`; type them as named unions verified against the backend
(VALID_STATES={new,watched,hidden}; kind user|watch_later; source local|
youtube; job_kind download|edit). VideoStatus then propagates through the
optimistic-override map, onState, and the VideoCard/VirtualFeed/PlayerModal
props — tsc now rejects a status typo (e.g. a stale "in_progress", which is a
derived filter, never a stored status) at every call site.
- localizeDetail: don't leak FastAPI's snake_case `loc` field names into a
translated 422 toast; return a clean, fully localized validation message
(drops the loc filter/pop parsing entirely)
- me(): drop the dead `r &&` guard now that req<T> types r non-nullable
req() returned Promise<any>, so every api.* return annotation was an
unchecked assertion and the 17 action endpoints leaked `any` to callers.
Make req generic with a single audited cast at the boundary; T flows from
each method's declared return type via contextual inference, so no call
site needs a type arg except where none existed:
- me(): type the /api/me probe ({ authenticated } + Partial<Me>)
- deepAll / syncSubscriptions: real backend-verified response shapes
- HttpError.detailData, localizeDetail(d), inner detailData: any -> unknown
Also teach localizeDetail the FastAPI 422 detail-ARRAY shape (carried in
from R6 S1b review): now that malformed requests return 422, surface the
offending field via a localized errors.validation key instead of falling
through to the generic toast.
No runtime change on normal flows (req is await-identical); the 422 branch
only fires on genuinely malformed input. Gate green: typecheck, eslint,
prettier, 68 vitest. Smoke-tested localdev: /api/me + feed 200, no console
errors.
The set-once key guard made a lost passphrase a permanent wall (409 on re-setup,
KeyGate offered only unlock/setup). Add an escape hatch:
- POST /api/messages/keys/reset drops the user's MessageKey so a new passphrase
can be set. Because every conversation key is derived from the keypair,
replacing it orphans all stored ciphertext in both directions, so the now-dead
`user` messages are deleted too (clean slate; system messages untouched).
Password accounts must re-verify (a hijacked session must not silently reset
messaging and read future messages); Google-only accounts rely on the session
+ the client danger-confirm. Rate-limited per user.
- KeyGate gains a "Forgot passphrase?" path in unlock mode → a danger reset view
(spells out the permanent history loss; a current-password field for password
accounts) → resets and returns to a fresh setup.
- e2ee.resetLocal wipes this device's key + derived conversation keys + the
IndexedDB copy; api.resetMessageKey; HU/EN strings.
- password reset also sets email_verified (the mail proves the mailbox),
rescuing an account that never clicked the verify link; is_active (admin
approval) is deliberately left untouched
- add POST /auth/verify/resend (rate-limited, off-response-path, anti-enum)
+ a "resend" mode/CTA on the verifyInvalid banner, so an expired/lost
verification link is no longer a dead end (re-register was a silent no-op)
- OAuth cancel/deny now redirects to /?login=oauth_cancelled with a friendly
banner instead of a raw 400 JSON page; pop the oauth_link markers BEFORE the
token exchange so an aborted link flow can't poison the next clean sign-in
Mini-epic "Downloads correctness & UX" (S1–S3), on top of the iOS-AV1 + 720p fixes.
S1 — naming & titles:
- ASCII-fold on-disk dir/file names AND the served (Content-Disposition) filename: no
spaces (underscore-joined), no accents (á→a, ő→o, ß→ss), pure ASCII — portable and free
of the `?` mojibake accented names show in non-UTF-8 tools. (Forward-only; existing files
clean up via re-download.)
- Strip a leading social engagement prefix ("1.6M views · 66K reactions | …") from titles.
S2 — universal browser playability (generalizes the iOS re-encode):
- ensure_browser_playable guarantees the stored file is H.264 + AAC/MP3 in mp4 — the only
combo every browser decodes. Re-encode just the offending stream(s) (video for AV1/VP9/HEVC,
audio for Opus/etc), or remux when only the container is wrong. Gated on the mp4 compat
profile (an explicit vcodec / non-mp4 custom profile opts out).
S3 — force re-download (preserves share links):
- POST /downloads/{job_id}/redownload keeps the job row so its public DownloadLink survives
and resolves to the freshly-downloaded file; deletes the old file and re-fetches under the
current rules. A failed re-download leaves the job in error (the intended broken-link case).
- Library "Re-download" action (icon + confirm), api method, hu/en strings.
Tests: naming/title-strip (test_naming), browser_transcode_flags matrix; existing
download_filename expectation updated for the underscore policy.
Prettier 3 (pinned), printWidth 100, double quotes — chosen to match the existing
hand-formatting and minimise reflow. This commit is ONLY the mechanical format pass
(`prettier --write`) plus the config/ignore/scripts, isolated so it never pollutes a
feature diff. Verified behaviour-neutral: typecheck, eslint (0 errors), and vitest
all green before and after. See .git-blame-ignore-revs — `git blame` skips this sha.
- Backend: add channel description to the shared _channel_summary projection, so both
the subscribed list and the discovery list carry it (no migration; description is
already stored from the channels.list call)
- New AboutCell: one truncated line in the table + full text in a portalled, always-on
glass hover/focus overlay (wider than Tooltip, flips above the anchor near the bottom,
closes on scroll/resize)
- About column (after Channel) on both the subscribed and discovery tables; hidden in the
mobile card fallback
The actors currently in the filter now render as cards above the poster grid —
headshot + name + in-scope title count + a remove x — so you SEE who you're
exploring, not just chips in the rail (generalises the old search-only person
cards to the applied filter). New GET /plex/people/cards (photo from the
plex_people cache, count live against cast_names); PlexBrowse fetches + renders
them; i18n en/hu. Verified: John Goodman (11) / Douglas M. Griffin (1) / Bradley
Cooper (14) with photos + counts. (Plex cast-explore S3)
Multiple selected actors now combine as OR (any) by default — click several cast
and see films featuring ANY of them — instead of the old hardcoded AND that
emptied the grid. An AND (all) toggle in the ACTIVE filter section (shown for 2+
actors, mirroring the genre match toggle) narrows to films with ALL of them.
Backend actor_mode param mirrors genre_mode. Verified: OR John Goodman|Douglas
M. Griffin = 11 films; AND = 1 (10 Cloverfield Lane). (Plex cast-explore S2)
Pick any number of channels; they OR together and every other filter applies
across the lot — "the last week's unwatched from these three".
`channelId`/`channelName` are replaced outright by `channelIds: string[]`, no
legacy reader (standing rule: no back-compat unless asked — a saved view written
against the old field simply loses its channel filter). The wire and the share
URL move with it: repeated `channel_ids` params, `?channel=a,b`. Backend ORs via
`Video.channel_id.in_()`; the count endpoint shares the same params object.
Two things the migration exposed:
- SavedViewsWidget fed DB blobs straight into serializers that now index an
array — the FeedFilters type says nothing about what an older build wrote, so
the blob is coerced where it enters. It white-screened the app before this.
- Chips carried channelName to label themselves. Without it they resolve names
from the channel cache, so they now fall back to the id, not a shared
"This channel" that would render N identical chips while the cache loads.
- fix: reserve the scrollbar gutter (scrollbar-gutter:stable) on the channel
page's scroll container, so switching between the tall Videos tab and the
short About tab no longer shifts the banner/avatar/buttons a few px sideways
(the vertical scrollbar was appearing/disappearing between the two tabs).
- About tab now shows Country (flag + localized name), Language, Topics
(topicCategories → readable chips), and Keywords (brandingSettings keywords
parsed into chips, quoted multi-word tags kept whole). country/language/topics
were already stored; keywords is new (migration 0055_channel_keywords, mapped
in apply_channel_details, returned by channel_detail).
- Discovery → channel page: the Channel-manager "Discover from playlists" tab now
links each channel name to its in-app channel page (ChannelLink onView), so a
discovered channel's About/videos can be inspected BEFORE subscribing (was
subscribe-only, plain text before).
Note: the channel info-card epic itself was already delivered in v0.19.0; this is
the About-tab enrichment follow-up + the header-shift fix. external_links stays
empty by design (YouTube removed the field from the Data API ~2023).
- channels CB3: sort discovery rows NULLs-last (title is None) to match the DB
ORDER BY exactly — coercing NULL title to "" floated untitled channels to the top.
- AdminUsers SC1: track in-flight rows in a Set, not a single id — per-row disabling
now lets the admin start concurrent row actions, and a shared id was cleared by
whichever settled first (re-enabling a still-pending row → possible double-submit).
- ChatThread CT4: reset the incoming-count ref when partnerId changes — the Messages
page reuses one ChatThread across conversation switches, so a same-count switch
could skip the open-marks-read badge refresh.
- messages MB3: push a bare {type:"unread"} (drop the now-dead count query — the
client re-fetches on the signal and ignored the number anyway).
- api.ts: extract the shared keepalive `beacon()` helper (saveProgressBeacon +
plexProgressBeacon were near-verbatim copies).
- player YB2: keepalive pagehide beacon (api.saveProgressBeacon) so the resume
position isn't lost on F5/close within 5s of the last checkpoint (mirrors Plex).
- player YB4: bound consecutive unplayable items in auto-advance so an
auto-advancing/loop=all queue can't spin over a run of dead videos.
- downloads B6 (client): localise structured quota/edit errors centrally in
api.req() via localizeDetail() + Intl.NumberFormat (fixes HU/DE + decimal sep);
+ 3-locale download error strings.
- channels FB1: focusChannelToken bump so re-clicking the same channel re-seeds
the search box; FB2: syncSubs invalidates feed/feed-count (set can change now).
- config CB2: reseed the ConfigPanel draft on a key-set dataVersion + explicit
post-save token, so a mid-edit refetch can't clobber an in-progress edit.
- config AB3 (UI): a blank allow_empty field stores "" instead of resetting.
- admin SB2/SC2: confirm + success toast on demo-whitelist remove and deny-invite
(+ trilingual strings); SC1: disable only the acted-on row (pendingId), not all;
SB3: pause the 1s scheduler countdown ticker while the tab is hidden.
- messages CT4: only invalidate conversations/unread when the incoming-message
count actually changed, not on every 20s poll; MB3 (client): react to the live
unread ping (onUnread → invalidate); MC3: extract e2ee installKey (setup/unlock);
CC2: hoist POLL_MS to messaging.ts; MB4: document the reload-scoped socket.
Signed client-side session cookies had no server-side kill switch: logout + password
reset couldn't evict a stolen/copied cookie (valid until expiry). Add User.session_epoch
(migration 0053), record it in the cookie at every login, and reject in current_user any
cookie whose recorded epoch is behind the account's current one.
- Bump the epoch on: password reset (kills ALL sessions — a reset is a compromise response),
password change + a new 'Log out other sessions' action (both re-stamp the CURRENT cookie
so the caller stays signed in, evicting only the others).
- Per-account epoch map in the session so one account's revocation doesn't evict the other
signed-in accounts in the same browser wallet.
- Missing epoch (pre-SA4 cookie) is treated as 0, so the first bump revokes grandfathered
sessions too.
- New POST /auth/logout-others + a Settings → Account 'Active sessions' button (trilingual).
Secret email tokens now ride the URL fragment (#reset=/#verify=), never the query
(?reset=/?token=): a fragment isn't sent to the server, so the token can't leak into
proxy/access logs or a Referer header.
- Reset: link → /#reset=; the SPA reads the token from location.hash and POSTs it
(unchanged /password-reset/confirm).
- Verify: link → /#verify=; new POST /auth/verify (token in body). The legacy GET
/auth/verify?token= is kept so pre-deploy emails in flight still work until they
expire. The SPA reads the fragment token, POSTs it, shows ok/invalid.
- Welcome: read secret tokens from the fragment, status flags from the query; strip
both after capture so nothing lingers in history.
Machine-baseline harvest (ruff + knip), all tsc/parse-green, no runtime change:
- backend: remove 3 unused imports (channels/playlists/youtube) via ruff; drop the
unused `job` binding in unshare_download (keep the _own_job ownership guard call).
- frontend: remove `export` from 23 internally-used-only symbols (knip "unused
exports") to shrink the public surface; delete 2 genuinely-dead declarations
(PlexBrowseResult — leftover from the removed /browse route; WIDGET_TITLES —
hardcoded English titles superseded by i18n).
Held back for a decision (unused here = possibly-unwired, NOT dead — flagged, not
removed): e2ee.lock()/clearDevice() (security primitives never wired to logout / a
"forget device" feature) and loadDefaultViewFilters (App reimplements it inline — a
DRY issue). See siftlode-ops/CODE-HYGIENE.md.
The searchable Collections picker was dropped from the sidebar when browsing
went unified (movies+shows across libraries) because collections are per-library
and there's no single selected library. Bring it back library-agnostic: GET
/api/plex/collections `library` is now optional — without it the endpoint unions
collections across all enabled libraries (with it, the old single-library path the
collection editor uses). The sidebar re-adds the searchable list (chip when one is
active). Its query key is ["plex-collections","union",<search>] so a search term
equal to a library plex_key can't collide with the editor's ["plex-collections",<key>],
while the shared prefix keeps editor invalidation refreshing the picker.
F6: coalesce whole-show/season Plex watch-pushes into ONE background task
(push_bulk_state_to_plex) that reuses a single DB session + keep-alive Plex
client, instead of scheduling one task (own session + HTTP client) per episode.
F8: cache a show's live Plex enrichment (metadata + related) per rating_key for
a short TTL and fetch the two calls in parallel; repeat opens skip the network.
Raw payloads are cached; per-user shaping stays out. An empty related list is not
cached (plex.related swallows a transient failure as [] — don't pin it for the TTL).
F10: remove dead code — the pre-unified /browse route + browse(), the /people
route + people() + _person_photo(), api.plexPeople, interface PlexPerson, and the
orphaned plex.people i18n block. DRY: appendPlexFilters() shared by plexLibrary +
plexFacets; one exported plexDetailUi.Filterable (was Fil + Filterable); PlexInfo
migrated onto the shared plexDetailUi hooks/menu (DetailCustomizeMenu gained
overlay + extra props; useDetailPrefs exposes savePref; PrefToggle exported).
Reviewed (high) → clean. F7 (facet aggregate collapse) deferred: self-exclusion
gives each sub-aggregate a distinct WHERE, and no measurement shows /facets slow.
- Facets now respect the watch-state filter too (In progress / Watched / Unwatched),
so e.g. the Year bounds match the visible set (was showing the library min, not the
filtered min).
- Genre chips sorted alphabetically (was by count).
- Sort chips ordered alphabetically by their localized label.
- Ascending/Descending chips swapped (Ascending first) and the default sort direction
is now Ascending.
- Default sort is now Title (ascending) instead of Recently added / Descending.
The sidebar's filter chips/bounds now ADAPT to the active filters: /facets takes the
current filters and computes each group's available values with all the OTHER active
filters applied but not its own (standard faceted search). So picking e.g. IMDb rating
>=8 trims the genre/content-rating chips + year bounds to what's still reachable, and
picking a genre narrows them further — while a multi-select group (genres) still shows
options to add. Extracted _meta_filter_conds (shared by browse/unified/facets), and the
frontend passes the live filters to plexFacets (query keyed on them, previous chips kept
during refetch). Search text is intentionally not factored into facets.
Collapse the separate Movie/Show library sections into ONE unified library with a
shared search + shared filter sidebar and a Movies/Shows/Both scope selector.
Backend: new GET /api/plex/library — a cross-library UNION of movies (plex_items) and
shows (plex_shows) as one mixed, paginated, sorted feed, scoped movie|show|both, with
the shared filters (extracted into _apply_meta_filters, DRY), FTS search, and per-user
watch-state (a show's state = the aggregate of its episodes). On a search that also
matches episodes, matching episodes come back in a separate 'episodes' list (the grouped
'Episodes' section — Proposal 3). /facets is now scope-aware (merged across the scope's
libraries). /item and /show now return their library section key (for the admin
collection editor, since there's no single library prop in the unified view).
Frontend: PlexSidebar's library picker -> a scope selector (Both/Movies/Shows); facets +
browse follow the scope (App's plexLib repurposed to a validated scope, default both).
PlexBrowse uses the unified endpoint, renders a mixed Titles grid + an Episodes section
on search. Poster cards are generalized: a hover Play/Resume overlay on every card, a
clickable title (not just the poster), and a movie/show type tag. The quick watched
toggle is now optimistic so it reliably flips BOTH ways (fixes the movie card that could
mark but not un-mark). Cast/crew members and the show hero's meta (year/rating/genre/
content-rating) are clickable filters; clicking a person widens the scope to Both so the
result is a mixed movie+show feed. i18n plex.filter.scope*/plex.unified.* (en/hu/de).
Still pending from the polish list (next pass): season-card quick toggles (watched +
add-to-playlist), per-episode watched toggle, and the full glassy art-bg + hide-cast
customize menu on the series pages.
Restructure TV browsing into show detail → seasons → season episodes → player, like
the Plex web app.
Backend: /show/{rk} now returns a rich show page — hero meta (rating/content_rating/
genres/studio + live IMDb), live Cast & Crew, Related shows (Plex 'related', mapped to
our mirrored shows so they're openable), and per-season cards with an aggregate
watch-state + on-deck episode, plus show-level resume (on-deck)/first(play-from-start)/
status rollup. New PlexClient.related(). New bulk-state endpoints POST /show/{rk}/state
and /season/{rk}/state mark every episode watched/unwatched for the user and mirror
each change to a linked Plex account in the background (best-effort, checked once).
Frontend: PlexShowView reworked into the show detail page (hero + Resume/Play-from-start/
Mark-show-watched/Add-to-playlist/[admin]Add-to-collection + season card grid + cast +
related strips); new PlexSeasonView season subpage (hero + Resume/Play/Mark-season/
Add-season-to-playlist + landscape episode grid). Both read the one cached ['plex-show']
payload (season page picks its season out of it — instant, no extra fetch). Player queue =
the whole show (from the show page) or the season (from the season page) so prev/next +
auto-advance follow order. New 'season' history subview; Backspace steps back one drill
level (grid←show←season, out of info/playlist) alongside browser/mouse Back. Season-level
'Add to collection' intentionally omitted (Plex collections hold whole shows, not seasons).
i18n plex.series.* (en/hu/de).
Mirror watched/unwatched/resume from Siftlode to a linked (owner) Plex account.
- PlexClient: scrobble / unscrobble / set_timeline (/:/scrobble, /:/unscrobble, /:/timeline).
- watch_sync: link_for_push() gates on owner + sync_enabled + initial_import_done; best-effort
push_state_to_plex() runs as a background task with its own session, never raises (Plex being
down must not break the user's action), and flips synced_to_plex on success so Phase C's pull
won't bounce it back.
- item_state / item_progress schedule the push: watched/unwatched immediately, resume only on a
"final" checkpoint (pause / pagehide / unmount) — not every 10s tick — so one watch doesn't spray
/:/timeline at the server. `hidden` is Siftlode-only and never touches Plex.
- Frontend: plexProgress / plexProgressBeacon carry a `final` flag; the periodic checkpoint is
non-final, pause/pagehide/leaving the player are final.
Verified live against the real Plex server (scrobble/unscrobble/timeline round-trip + restore;
link gating; synced_to_plex flip).
Admins get a 'Plex watch sync' section in Settings → Account (shown when the Plex module is on):
a two-way-sync toggle whose first enable imports the Plex watch history, a last-import line, and an
'Import from Plex now' button. api.plexWatch{Link,SetLink,Import}; trilingual EN/HU/DE strings.
- Multi-audio items now ship every audio track as an HLS rendition in one session
(stream.py var_stream_map -> master.m3u8), so hls.js switches audio CLIENT-SIDE with
no ffmpeg restart, same timeline, no gap/drift. /session gains ?multi=1 (forces HLS
even for direct-playable multi-audio files); K is probed from the video variant seg.
- Restore the selected audio track on AUDIO_TRACKS_UPDATED, not MANIFEST_PARSED (the
renditions aren't parsed yet on MANIFEST_PARSED, so the set was dropped -> after F5 the
UI showed the restored track but playback stayed on the default).
- Resume position now survives F5: a pagehide keepalive beacon (plexProgressBeacon)
saves the current position on reload/close/navigate, since React effect cleanup does
not run on a full reload; seekTo writes the target into absRef immediately so a save
right after a seek is accurate.
Streaming / subtitle sync (the core fix):
- stream.py: add -copyts so HLS segments carry the true absolute PTS, and measure
the real keyframe start K from seg_0 (ffprobe) -> return it as the session start.
Fixes the seconds-long subtitle lead caused by using the requested seek offset
instead of the keyframe ffmpeg actually lands on with video stream-copy.
- Add -noaccurate_seek so the re-encoded audio starts at the same keyframe as the
video (was starting (X-K)s later -> seconds of silence after each seek/audio switch).
- Compensate the fixed ~1.0s lag hls.js introduces for non-zero-start copyts streams,
folded into the session start so the clock, seeking and the subtitle shift are all
content-accurate.
- /subtitle gains an offset param; _shift_vtt shifts absolute cues onto the session's
zero-based clock and DROPS fully-past cue blocks (collapsing them to 0->0 made every
past cue active at currentTime 0 on resume -> a pile-up until playback advanced).
Audio:
- /session + stream.py gain an audio A/V-sync offset (-itsoffset, full +/-, second
input only when non-zero).
Player settings & personalization (per-account, persisted -> survive F5):
- storage.ts: useAccountPersistedObject (per-account JSON prefs blob).
- PlexPlayer: volume/mute, audio+subtitle language (index-based match, fixes the F5
audio-revert), sync offsets, seek steps, subtitle style, auto-hide, play intent.
- Hotkeys A (cycle audio) / S (cycle subtitle), mouse-wheel volume, Ctrl+arrow fine
seek, per-user plain/fine seek-step + auto-hide toggle.
- Subtitle appearance: size / colour / vertical position / background via ::cue + line.
- UI: split into a Tracks quick-menu + a tabbed gear panel (Sync | Playback | Subtitle);
both dismiss on outside-click; edge-aware control tooltips.
- i18n en/hu/de for all new strings.
Two visual gaps for non-catalog downloads:
- Channel link: YouTube already exposes channel_url; Facebook exposes none but a
numeric uploader_id that resolves at facebook.com/<id>. `_uploader_url` derives
it so the auto-detected channel renders as a real clickable link.
- Poster: a source with no thumbnail (e.g. a direct reddit HLS URL) showed a
blank image box. The worker now cuts a representative frame with ffmpeg
(`ensure_poster`) into the `<base>.jpg` sidecar and records `poster_path`
(migration 0050). The card, the public watch page (<video poster> + og:image),
and link previews fall back to it via new authed + public poster endpoints.
Adds `app.downloads.backfill` (one-off, re-run-safe) to fill uploader_url
(re-extract YouTube/Facebook metadata) and posters for pre-existing downloads.
The edit (pencil) action now edits a download's full display metadata — title,
channel name, channel link and any number of extra reference URLs — instead of
just the name. The channel and links render as clickable links on the library
card, and the channel link is auto-filled from the source (yt-dlp channel_url)
when available. Shared watch pages resolve the same per-download overrides, so a
rename/channel/link edit is reflected on the public /watch page too, with every
link clickable.
Adds migration 0049 (media_assets.uploader_url; download_jobs.display_uploader,
display_uploader_url, extra_links) and generalizes the rename endpoint into a
metadata update with URL validation. EN/HU/DE strings included.
Playlist view now groups a run of episodes from the same show into a
collapsible season/show block so a whole series doesn't sprawl into an
endless flat list; movies stay standalone (larger poster card in the
accordion). Two per-account layouts — Accordion and Tree — persisted via
LS.plexPlaylistLayout; show groups start collapsed. Reorder is drag &
drop (@dnd-kit): a show block moves as one unit, episodes reorder within
their show, keyboard-draggable via KeyboardSensor. Remove works per item,
per season, or per whole show. The add-to-playlist dialog is generalised
to a single leaf or a whole group (tri-state none/some/all with an in/size
count); the show page gains add buttons for an episode, a season, and the
whole show. i18n en/hu/de.
Personal ordered lists of Plex items, kept in Siftlode's own DB (works for users
without a Plex account, like watch-state) — the "your own lists" counterpart to
shared collections. Plex-direction sync is a later phase (plex_rating_key
reserved).
Backend: migration 0048 (plex_playlists + plex_playlist_items with position),
PlexPlaylist/PlexPlaylistItem models, and per-user CRUD endpoints under
/api/plex/playlists (list [+?contains for the add dialog], create [seeded],
detail [ordered cards], rename, delete, add/remove item, reorder). _leaf_card
handles the movie/episode mix. Frontend: "Add to playlist" dialog from the movie
info page (all users), a Playlists section in PlexSidebar (list + create),
PlexPlaylistView (reorder up/down, remove, rename, delete, Play all), and
PlexPlayer gained an optional `queue` so play-through follows the list order
(prev/next + auto-advance). i18n en/hu/de. Verified end-to-end on localdev
(backend CRUD + the create→add→view→play-through UI flow).
Admins can curate Plex collections from a movie's info page ("Collections"
button → PlexCollectionEditor dialog): create a collection (seeded with the
movie), add/remove the movie to/from editable collections, delete a collection,
and "take over" an existing plain Plex collection (mark it editable). All writes
go to Plex (POST/PUT/DELETE via new PlexClient methods) and are reflected on
every client; a targeted single-collection re-sync (sync.resync_collection /
delete_collection_local) updates the local mirror without the full ~4-min sync.
Gating (per the design decisions): editing is ADMIN-ONLY (collections are shared
library-wide); only plain manual collections are editable — smart + external
auto-lists (IMDb/TMDb/…) are always read-only (can_edit = editable && !smart &&
source=="collection"). New admin endpoints under /api/plex/collections
(create/items add+remove/rename/delete/editable). Verified end-to-end incl. the
live Plex write API (create/add/rename/remove/delete all 200, self-cleaned) and
the editor UI (create + delete with confirm) on localdev.
Selecting a subtitle restarted the HLS session with `-map 0:s:{ord}`, assuming an
EMBEDDED stream. Films whose subs are external sidecar .srt files (Plex reports
them, but they aren't in the mkv) matched no stream; the master-playlist's
declared subtitle group then made ffmpeg fail → "Playback couldn't start".
Subtitles now go through a new GET /api/plex/subtitle/{rk}/{ord} → text/vtt
(external subs fetched from Plex via the stream key + SRT→VTT; embedded text subs
extracted with ffmpeg; image subs → 415), served as native <video><track> that
the browser overlays. So choosing/switching a subtitle is instant with NO session
restart, and stream.py drops all subtitle muxing (`-sn`, no master playlist).
Image-based subs (PGS/VobSub) are marked text=false and hidden in the picker.
Verified on prod's Nymphomaniac Vol. II: HU sidecar → 1693 WebVTT cues, no crash.
Derive a `source` bucket per collection from the already-synced title + smart
flag (no schema change, no re-sync): external list providers (IMDb/TMDb/TVDb/
Trakt) by leading token, Plex smart lists via the smart flag, everything else a
genuine "collection". Returned on each info-page collection strip so the client
can show/hide each type independently. Adds the stripSource labels (en/hu/de).
Backend (migration 0047_plex_collections): a plex_collections table mirrors every Plex
collection (card metadata + smart flag + an editable flag reserved for Phase 2); membership
is stored as GIN-indexed collection_keys on member movies (plex_items) and shows (plex_shows).
The background sync (plex_sync) now fetches each library's collections + their children and
rebuilds membership — so ALL reads are local (Plex's dual-language collection queries are slow;
this trades a ~4-min background sync for instant reads). New /api/plex/collections endpoint;
/browse gains a combinable filter; item_detail returns the movie's collection
'strips' (sibling titles as playable cards, smallest/most-specific collection first) — all pure
local lookups.
Frontend: PlexSidebar gains a searchable Collection picker + an active-collection chip;
PlexInfo renders the collection strips (playable posters + 'Browse collection' → sets the
filter); the collection is part of PlexFilters (persisted). i18n en/hu/de.
Phase 2 (create/edit collections with write-back to Plex) is separate.
Backend (migration 0046_plex_people_search): a new people_text column (cast +
director names, de-duped) is folded into the generated search_vector at weight B,
so the top search box finds titles by an actor/director name and ranks them above
summary-only mentions. New /api/plex/people endpoint returns the cast/crew matching
the term (name prefix or word-start) with a film count + a headshot (pulled from one
representative film's live metadata; image bytes disk-cached).
Frontend: PlexBrowse shows matching people as virtual cards above the grid; clicking
one adds them to the actor/director filter (multi-value, from the C1 work) and clears
the search box so you land on exactly that person's films. Answers the 'why does
"drew" match Rambo?' confusion — it was matching the word in the synopsis; now names
are searchable. i18n en/hu/de.
⚠️ Prod needs a Plex re-sync after deploy to populate people_text (search_vector
regenerates automatically once the column has data).
UAT follow-ups on the Plex filter epic:
- Sort now has an asc/desc toggle (sort_dir), applied to any sort field.
- Genre multi-select gains an Any/All mode (genre_mode: OR vs AND containment).
- Director/actor/studio become multi-value: people AND (titles featuring all selected),
studios OR; clicking them on the info page stacks (unions) instead of replacing, and
the sidebar shows each as a removable 'Active' chip.
- fix(history): clicking a metadata filter on the info page now pushes a fresh grid
entry instead of history.back(), so browser Back returns to the info page rather than
leaving the Plex module.
- fix(player): fully tear down the <video> + hls on unmount and guard late play() calls,
so backing out of a just-started video no longer leaves audio playing in the background.
