Every address-bar writer glued `pathname + query`, so a path of `//evil.com/x` named another host:
history refused it (SecurityError) and the first nav mirror threw the app into its crash screen. One
builder, `hrefHere`, now makes the address from the URL itself and stays on this origin.
- /auth/google/connect is a navigation and carries no headers: the tab names the account it
was built for in `expect`, checked by the same comparison as the request header
(built_for_another_account); a mismatch lands on /?account=changed
- the link marker names the OAuth state of its own flow: an older flow coming back no longer
spends the marker of the connect still open (which then returned as a plain sign-in)
- a 401 account_changed reloads the tab with a one-time flag, and the reloaded tab says it
now shows the account signed in
- a refused switch to a suspended or not-yet-approved account says so in the signed-in
app's words, naming the address a request was recorded for
- the prefs merge locks FOR NO KEY UPDATE, so a transaction that only added a row referring
to the account does not hold the save up; a test pins the lock
- giving up a lost page closes a channel page open over it
- e2e README names the chromium-only specs
A tab names the account it was claimed for on every request, beacon and upload
(X-Siftlode-Expect-Account); current_user and /auth/logout refuse a mismatch with
401 account_changed and keep the session, so a tab left showing the account
signed in before reloads instead of writing to the new one.
/auth/login clears a connect marker left by an abandoned connect, and a link
completes only on a session that still holds. The prefs merge reads the row
under a lock. A tab's sessionStorage records its own owner. A page the account
loses is given up, address bar and remembered page included. The panel layouts
are preferences; the storage contract also refuses a key handed to the Storage
API or to usePref outside its kind. A refused sign-in as someone else and a
failed sign-out say so. The chromium-only e2e specs are in the gate register,
the member walk waits for its requests, and devices.spec checks the save itself.
The per-tab account pin, the X-Siftlode-Account header and ?account= go: the session cookie alone
says who is asking. localStorage keys lose their account suffix; the browser records whose state it
holds (siftlode.owner), BootGate hands it to the account the server answered as, and a different
account starts from a clean slate (the public /watch keys stay). The first boot moves the account's
old per-account copies onto the plain keys and drops other accounts' copies. Until the claim, and
after another tab claimed the browser for someone else, the account helpers read and write nothing.
The account panel lists no other accounts: "Add another account" becomes "Sign in as someone else"
(Google's account chooser; the pick replaces this account, a cancel keeps it), shown where Google
sign-in is configured.
The audit log, the server log and the admin quota view were three pages (the quota one a Stats tab),
each with its own filters, and the background runs had no list at all. Now one page ("Napló" /
"Activity") reads all four, each still its own table on the server: a shared bar (text, a period of
1 h to 90 days defaulting to 7, an account) and each tab's own filters, the whole view in the URL.
The old page ids open their tab.
Server side: the audit log and the new run list (`/api/admin/runs`) filter and page like the server
log, through one keyset helper (`routes/_keyset`) the log now shares; an audit row keeps the request
it was made in (migration 0111), so its log lines are a pivot away, as a run's are (`lrun`). The
quota breakdown takes since/until and one account. The Scheduler rows get a history button to their
job's runs.
Also fixed on the way: re-saving the value in force on the Configuration page staged its override
without committing it (the commit sat inside the audit branch), so the save was lost.
It always said a live search spends the shared API quota, while the default source (the website's
own endpoint, scrape) spends none — the owner avoided a free search because of it. /api/me now names
the running search_source, and the tooltip names the cost under it: none for scrape (the enrich step
costs a unit or two), 100 units a page for the official API.
"1 seasons", "Synced 1 subscriptions", "1 video(s) were skipped": 21 English
strings carried {{count}} in one plain key and read plural at one. Each is a
_one/_other pair now (Hungarian keeps one form for both), and so is every other
counted string, so the next wording change is a plural too. A contract test
holds the rule for every locale file.
- audit log: a job run named from its result data (nested phases too), a skipped run says so, a
secret's reset reads as a reset, choices named as Configuration names them, interval / batch /
counts localized; the inbox shares the same jobRunText
- HU: remux is "Közvetlen közvetítés" (it shared "Közvetlen lejátszás" with direct play); backfill is
behúzás, enrich is dúsítás, collection is kollekció, the allow-list is fehérlista; the last
"jobnak" / "transzkódolás"; a test holds the options of one choice to distinct names
- contract: every skipped / reason word a job returns is named in both languages
- person page: the bio wait is timed from the open and a failing ask stops the polling; ClampedText
(ui) shared with the collection page, whose short summary lost its dead More
- a playlist names season 0 the Specials; the channel re-slot compares in the reader's alphabet; an
invite's date is in the admin's language; the language-ordered lists are asked again once a
language switch is saved (saveLanguage)
- poster grids' column minimum in rem; lint refuses minmax(Npx,…)
The D3 list: Feed, Shorts, Admin, Token, Port stay; stream, Prio, Job, Audit, Demo, Auto, Info,
Frontend/Backend, Backfill and transcode get the Hungarian word (közvetítés, Prioritás, Feladat,
Eseménynapló, Demó, Automatikus, Infó, Felület/Szerver, videók behúzása, átkódolás). The final sweep
also took out reset/sync/reconcile/setup/logs/whitelist/email, and three features that went by two
names: access requests (kérés/kérelem), backfill (betöltés/behúzás), and the connection test
("Check the connection" beside "Test connection", in both languages). Two quota actions shared one
Hungarian name. The playlists rail title and two of its sort labels are shorter so they fit.
DESIGN.md Copy: the rule and its decision-log row.
The owner's picks (all the recommended options) become DESIGN.md's Copy
chapter and a sweep of both languages (742 values, no key drift):
- One name per feature: the rail's label, which may shorten it (Alerts
-> Notifications, Fiókok -> Felhasználók, Download Center -> Downloads,
Channel manager -> Channels); one "sync from YouTube" verb.
- Four verbs, four meanings (Delete / Remove / Dismiss / Discard, and
their Hungarian pairs), checked against what each action does.
- Sentence case, the app's places capitalised; "…" on a command that
asks first (a popover or form title got its own key without it);
one-sentence messages without a stop or a tick, "Couldn't …"; curly
quotes.
- Dates only from lib/format.ts, in the UI language: formatDateTime
names the month and stops at the minute (it printed "9/27/2026,
8:30:14 AM"), formatDateTimeSec for the log, the audit and the
recorder; ui/RelativeTime pairs "3d ago" with the exact minute on
hover. local/date-format refuses toLocale*String and Intl date
formatters elsewhere.
- Units from Intl, short (formatUnit): runtimes, totals, the Scheduler
countdown, the stats range, the player's tap skip. "2h 13m" was
English in both languages.
- src/i18n/copyRule.test.ts holds the machine-readable part (quotes,
"...", ticks, bare unit letters).
A contract test scans the source (tests excluded) for each key as a whole literal, or under a
dynamic prefix like `plex.sort.${k}`, with plural forms counted through their base key. It found 75
keys that had outlived the code showing them (the old sidebar sort vocabulary, the old login page, a
pager the DataTable replaced, …); they are gone from EN and HU. A key read in a way the scan cannot
see goes in an explicit ALLOWED map with its reason.
Both log viewers put their lines in a NavGrid: j/k (and the arrows) step
from line to line, and Enter opens one exactly as a click does (the line's
button is its `data-nav-open`). A focused line is named by its code and
message.
The console's nav entry is "Szervernapló" / "Server log", its page title:
"Diagnosztika" was already the Settings tab that holds the user's own log,
and two places with one name read as one place.
Admin → Diagnostics reads the server's stored log: one list, newest first,
where a line opens in place to its full record (time, source and logger,
account, request and job ids, version, message, attributes, stack). A
request or job id narrows the list to that request or job with every other
filter off, shown as a removable chip. Filters: level group, source,
account, event, period and a free-text search; all of them live in the URL
(`l*` keys, which setPage clears like the Plex and Channels keys), so a
filtered view is a link and Back restores it. "Live" re-reads the newest
page every few seconds while the tab is visible; paging into older rows
turns it off. Copy puts the loaded lines on the clipboard as JSON lines.
The facet counts now honour every filter but their own, as the feed's do:
a request pivot narrows them, and a picked level does not zero its
siblings. A value in use stays offered even when the counts drop it.
"Saját napló" and the console draw a line with one shared component,
`LogLine`, whose phone layout gives the message its own full-width line
(sharing the code's line left it a few characters). The level groups
moved to lib/log.ts for both.
The console's own reads are logged at DEBUG on success, like the
healthcheck: at INFO its live tail filled the log with itself.
"Naplózás" (logging) named the audit log in the nav, its page and its
Configuration tab, right beside the new "Naplózási szint" (log level)
under Diagnosztika — two different things under one word. The scheduler
hint also pointed at a "Beállítások → Naplózás" path that does not
exist; it is Konfiguráció → Auditnapló, as the English already says.
Owner answers to the E11 S5 raises (2026-09-13): 1 → A, 2 → "Feed" in every language, 3 → translate the
proxy label and fix every config key missing in BOTH languages ("maintenance", "tmdb" — old bugs).
Focus across a view change (1-A). Opening a Plex title from Home's rail, a channel from the Channels
table or a title from a Plex grid switches the page or the sub-view, which unmounts the list; Back used
to hand focus to <body>, so the next `j` started over at the top. The YouTube player (an overlay)
already restored onto the card.
- `lib/listNav`: `navPosition()` (list's place in reading order, the page's list count, item index)
and `restoreNavPosition()`: focuses the item once the page has as many lists on screen as when it was
left, polls on a timer (a hidden tab runs no animation frames), gives up after 2 s or at once when
something already holds focus, focuses without scrolling (the scroll restore owns the position).
- `lib/history`: `rememberNavPosition()` stamps `sfNav` onto the entry being left and returns the state
without it (a new entry must not inherit it); one popstate listener restores and spends the stamp,
so a later landing on the same entry (an overlay closing over it) cannot pull focus to an old item.
- Called before every view push: `setPage`, `openChannel`, `enterYtSearch`, `useHistorySubview.open`,
the Channels tab push. `navPosition.wiring.contract.test` fails on any `history.pushState(` without
it (the overlay stack's own push is the one exemption).
"Feed" (2). The module is "Feed" in both languages: every "hírfolyam" in the Hungarian UI (≈45 strings,
suffixed: Feedből, Feeded, Feedben…) and the prose "feed" in English that means the module ("your
Feed", "Hide from Feed"); "RSS feed" keeps its meaning. The welcome email says it too.
Backend ids without a name (3). The Configuration page showed `maintenance`, `tmdb`,
`maintenance_revalidate_batch`, `download_upload_max_bytes`, `audit_retention_days`, `plex_overlay_map`,
`tmdb_api_key` and `tmdb_language` as raw identifiers — the lookup falls back to the id, and the i18n
parity test stayed green because both languages missed the same keys. Added labels + hints (EN/HU),
the two groups (and their tab order), the missing `scheduler.jobDesc.demo_reset`, removed the stale
`plex_sync_interval_min` field, and "YouTube API kimenő proxy". `i18n/backendIds.contract.test` reads
`sysconfig.SPECS`, `scheduler.JOB_INTERVALS` and the audit/quota action enums from the backend sources
and fails on an id without its name in either language, or a name left for an id the backend dropped.
DX-17, three one-liners the epic's canonical sweep did not reach:
`routes/setup.py::setup_admin` still resolved the wizard's admin by
literal `User.email ==`. The wizard can be re-run, and E9.5's premise is
that two spellings of one Gmail mailbox are one person — so a second run
under the other spelling would have created exactly the duplicate admin
row the epic exists to prevent.
`routes/admin.py::_decide` hand-rolled `db.get` + 404 where the file's
newer endpoints use `get_or_404`. There were TWO such sites, not the one
the review named; both are converted, per the house rule that a
principle gets fixed everywhere in one sweep.
`useVerifyEntry`'s `hashchange` listener recognised `#verify=` but not
`#reset=`, so pasting a reset link into a tab already running the app
was silently ignored — the same silence that made the verify half a bug.
It now notices, and says out loud that reset links need a signed-out
window; the fragment is still deliberately left in the address bar
(review round 4), so signing out from that tab recovers it.
DX-16: `.catch(() => setOutcome("invalid"))` could not tell a spent
token from a 502 mid-deploy or a dropped connection, and by then the
fragment is cleared — so a network blip was reported as "that link is no
longer valid", pushing the user to request a fresh one on the strength
of a false statement. Only a 400 carrying {code:"verify"} is the
server's verdict now; everything else gets its own outcome, with no
resend CTA, because the token is untouched and retrying it works. The
rule was already written one file away for the reset-link probe: "a
network blip must never be cached as 'this link is dead'".
Two existing tests asserted the old conflation by rejecting with a bare
Error("400"); they now reject with the real HttpError. The errors are
built inside the rejection, not hoisted: mountAt calls vi.resetModules(),
so an HttpError imported earlier is a different class identity and
`instanceof` would quietly miss.
Gate: vitest 671 -> 676, pytest 924 -> 925.
An account can now hold two true addresses: the one its owner typed, which a Google
sign-in no longer overwrites, and the one Google answers with. Only the first was
stored, so Settings could say 'Connected' without saying connected AS WHOM -- exactly
what someone who registered with a +tag needs to know.
users.google_email (migration 0080) records Google's answer at sign-in and at an
in-app link. /api/me exposes it ONLY when it differs from the account address, so the
comparison lives in one place and the majority, whose two addresses are the same
string, see no change at all. Rendered in the account menu as a muted third line under
the identity, and in the Settings sign-in row under the existing hint.
A short 'Google' label rather than a brand glyph: the app draws one icon set (lucide),
and a generic mail icon next to an email address says nothing. It also reads to a
screen reader, which an unlabelled logo would not.
No backfill is possible -- Google's answer is only known at sign-in -- so accounts
linked earlier stay NULL until their owner next signs in with Google.
The token was only ever consumed inside Welcome.tsx, which App renders ONLY when
there is no session. Opening the emailed link in a browser that already held a
Siftlode session posted nothing, the fragment was then stripped, and the user got
no signal at all -- the link simply did nothing. Incognito worked, which is why it
survived. Confirmation now happens in App, above that branch: signed out the outcome
still drives the auth card's banners, signed in it drives a top-of-app bar.
The entry URL is snapshotted once at import time (lib/entryUrl) instead of per
component, so no future URL writer can strip a token before whoever needs it has
read it -- that ordering race is what broke this in the first place. POST /auth/verify
now names the address it confirmed, which matters when the browser holds a session
for a different account; the same reasoning as password_reset_required already
covers the disclosure.
Also here, from the 2026-09-02 review tail: the dead GET /auth/verify goes (both
senders emit the fragment form, and the last query-token link expired 24h after the
0.78.7 deploy), a spent #verify=/#reset= fragment is cleared while signed in, and
the auth-card banners get role=status. The verifyOkReset copy no longer blames
admin approval, which E9.5 S1 made false.
The chip is about YouTube subscription syncing, so it only earns its place on
the feed those subscriptions fill and the manager where you curate them. On
Plex — a different source entirely — plus playlists, downloads and stats it was
just noise.
Its tooltips were written for a roomy sidebar block and read like documentation
on a pill: the counts explanation went 120 chars -> 48, the full-history one
142 -> 46, and pause/resume drop "background".
Replace the full-width top bar with a fixed floating header of glass pills: a
fixed-position ModuleName (accent dot + label + prev/next cyclic module stepper)
and a shared SearchBar. The header's left edge is anchored as if the nav rail
and filter sidebar were both open, so it never shifts on collapse or module
change; the right edge leaves a 10% margin.
- ModuleName label width is measured live from the reachable modules' titles in
the current language, recomputing on a language or account change.
- Module names come from a shared moduleLabelKey (the same short labels as the
nav rail); NavSidebar and the header now read from one source (lib/modules.ts).
- The arrows step cyclically through moduleOrder(me) — dynamic, no hard-coded
targets, wrapping at both ends.
- Search is hoisted into the SearchBar for feed (YouTube search), plex, channels
(including the Discovery tab) and playlists (new); Go button, Enter triggers it.
- The Playlists left rail now reaches the top; header clearance via --hdr-h.
The "Filters N active" badge and Clear all only tracked the sidebar facets
(tags/show/sort/content/date/channel), so the toolbar-level Source and the
Mine/Library scope neither bumped the count nor reset — inconsistent with
filtersToParams (which treats them as filters, so Save view/Share already
captured them).
- activeCount now includes Library scope and a non-default Source; "relevance"
(auto-applied while searching, no manual option) is excluded from the sort
count so typing a query no longer inflates the badge.
- Clear all resets scope back to "my" (Mine) and drops Source to organic,
alongside the facets. The search q is intentionally preserved.
- The header search box gets a clear (X) button when it holds a value, so the
search has its own reset (clearing it reverts the relevance sort to newest).
Surface live YouTube search in the existing feed, triggered explicitly so the
expensive API call is never per-keystroke.
- Header: the search box still filters the local catalog as you type; Enter or a
YouTube button escalates the term to a live search (hidden for the demo account).
- Feed: a dedicated infinite query renders results in the same VirtualFeed cards +
in-app player, under a banner with a back button and a quota note. No auto-paginate
(each page spends 100 units) — an explicit 'Load more (uses quota)' button instead;
quota/limit errors (incl. 429) shown inline. The empty local feed offers a
'Search YouTube for <q>' CTA.
- Library: a 'Search-discovered' toggle reveals search-ingested videos (hidden by
default); sent as exclude_search_discovered.
- Admin: search_daily_limit_per_user config field; new videos_search quota label.
- All new strings translated in HU/EN/DE.
New admin-only Users page (sidebar): Users & roles (list + promote/demote with
confirm; self/demo/last-admin guarded server-side), plus the Access requests
(Invite whitelist) and Demo whitelist+reset migrated out of Settings → Account
(same data/tables — UI relocated only). Settings → Account now holds personal
content only. ConfigPanel learns a boolean field type (toggle) for the new
allow_registration setting. api methods, new 'users' page/route/nav/header, and
EN/HU/DE strings (new users namespace + access group).
New admin-only Configuration page that renders the system_config registry grouped
(Email/SMTP first), with per-field save/reset, write-only encrypted secret fields
(disabled with a hint when TOKEN_ENCRYPTION_KEY is unset), and a Send-test-email
button. New 'config' page + sidebar nav item + header title; api methods and
EN/HU/DE strings.
The header's sync indicator spun "fetching history" whenever any channel
still lacked full history — i.e. perpetually, even when the scheduler was
idle between its periodic runs. It now spins only while a channel-sync job
(backfill or RSS poll) is actually running; otherwise pending deep-history
work shows as the calm, static "N without full history" link, and recent
work queued for the next run shows a static "N queued". This makes the
header coherent with the Scheduler dashboard's live state.
Backend exposes running_job_ids() from the scheduler activity and a derived
sync_active flag on /api/sync/my-status.
New admin Scheduler page (left-nav entry) with a live, self-refreshing view of
job activity, queued work and quota. Polling is factored into a reusable
useLiveQuery hook (pauses when the tab is unfocused) that the notification bell
and future yt-dlp job queue will reuse instead of re-implementing.
Track every account that completes OAuth in a browser session (session 'account_ids',
~14-day cookie), so the user can switch between them without another Google round-trip.
New GET /api/me/accounts (switchable accounts, active flagged) and POST /api/me/switch
(guarded: target must be in the session list — proof it signed in here — and re-checked
against is_allowed in case the invite was revoked). Logout now signs out the active
account and falls back to the most recent remaining one, else clears the session. UI: the
account popover lists the other signed-in accounts (click to switch, reloads) plus an
'Add another account' action (-> /auth/login, which uses prompt=select_account).
Trilingual. Third step of Epic N.
Add the Playlists page (left rail of playlists + detail with drag&drop reorder,
inline rename, one-step delete, remove item, Play all / row-click playback via the
existing PlayerModal) and an AddToPlaylist popover (portaled, multi-toggle +
inline new-playlist) wired into the VideoCard hover overlay and the PlayerModal.
New api client methods + Playlist types, a 'playlists' page route + account-menu
entry, and trilingual strings. Local only — YouTube sync comes in later phases.
The header status only considered recent-sync pending, so it read "all synced"
while the scheduler was still backfilling full history — directly contradicting
the adjacent "N without full history" notice. Add an active "fetching history"
state (spinner) shown when recent sync is done but deep backfill is still
pending, so "all synced" appears only when nothing is pending at all. The admin
pause button now also shows during deep backfill (it's pausable work). Trilingual.
Add a "Mine / Library" segmented toggle (shown on the feed page) that switches
FeedFilters.scope between the user's own subscriptions and the whole shared
catalog. A read-scope-less user (signed in but no YouTube grant) can now browse
and manage the shared library on their own account — the empty "my feed" state
offers a "browse the shared library" shortcut alongside the connect-YouTube CTA.
scope is preserved across "Clear all" (it's a mode, not a filter) and kept out
of the URL state. Trilingual strings (HU/EN/DE) for the toggle and the CTA.
Login screen (with a language picker), header, account menu, sync status, About and
Release Notes dialogs, and the version banner are now fully translated in Hungarian,
English and German.
