_register_account() flushed the new User but relied on someone else to commit:
upsert_pending_invite() commits only when it actually writes an invite row, and
_issue_token() runs only when SMTP is enabled. For an email an admin had ALREADY
approved, on an instance where email is unavailable, neither fired — the session
closed and the account was rolled back. The would-be user got the uniform "ok"
and no account, could not sign in, and re-registering was a silent no-op.
Commit explicitly after the invite upsert (a no-op when upsert already committed
the same transaction). Three DB-lane regression tests cover the pre-approved
no-SMTP path (fails without the fix), the unknown-email path that always worked,
and the pre-approved path with SMTP on.
hls.js startPosition:0 so the transcode/remux HLS session starts VOD-style
at the requested position instead of chasing the live edge of the growing
EVENT playlist.
Bundles the whole E7 epic (library metadata, crop fix, share-by-default, in-app player,
browser-playable guarantee, local upload) plus the deep-review hardening. Bump VERSION and
add the 0.76.0 release-notes entry (RELEASE_NOTES[0] must match VERSION).
Fixes from several multi-agent deep-review passes over the E8 feed-filtering &
channel-manager epic (S1-S4):
- feed_years buckets by UTC year to match the UTC-pinned year-filter bounds
- tag suggestions: examples ∩ subscribed (drop tagged-then-unsubscribed channels
from the profile denominator); exclude hidden channels as suggestion targets
- channel manager: restore ghost chips + surface an error toast on a failed tag accept
- year filter: debounce the search term so the per-year facet doesn't refetch per keystroke
- channel tags: aria-label the "+N" overflow pills
- extract useTagSuggestions hook; add backend + hook tests (profile boundaries, cap,
language exclusion, unsubscribed/hidden handling, UTC bucketing, bulk-accept)
Bump VERSION to 0.73.0 + release notes.
Bump VERSION to 0.70.0 and add the user-facing release-notes entry for the E4
Frontend Platform epic: full bookmarkable/shareable address-bar URLs (retiring the
"Share view" button), touch-visible card action buttons with a shape (not
colour-only) watched marker, and the bookmark-page-closes-on-modal-close fix — over
a large internal front-end refactor (god-component splits, usePref, useUrlMirror,
FilterRail, Modal focus). No DB migration.
Three prod bug fixes: local-poster-primary Library thumbnails, viewport-scaled
feed read-ahead (fixes the fast-scroll "Load more" stall), and the channel About
popover fitting/blank-line cleanup.
Bump VERSION 0.67.0 -> 0.68.0 and add the user-facing release-notes entry for
the E2 epic (feed sort index, keyset/NOT NULL, search GIN + state inner-joins,
single /feed/summary pass, no card-action refetch storm, job partial indexes).
Bump VERSION 0.66.0 -> 0.67.0 and add the user-facing release-notes entry for
the E1 Foundation epic (data-safety fixes, account-switch + search-error fixes,
graceful key-mismatch degrade; plus the security/test-net/CI/repro chores).
Ships the E5 sprint stack (S1–S7): field-scoped Plex search + typeahead, cast &
crew pages, the HU-overlay Hungarian metadata + language-aware serving, the
IMDb/audience rating split, the toolbar relocation, and the narrow/mobile header
fix — plus the underlying Plex-module refactors (feedquery/plex.cards/plex.query
extraction, db.query→2.0 select).
- VERSION 0.65.2 → 0.66.0
- releaseNotes.ts: 0.66.0 user-facing entry
- prettier-format the E5-touched frontend files (release hygiene)
Merged main (0.65.2 download-gc hotfix) in first; no code conflicts (E5 is
Plex-only, the hotfix was notifications/downloads).
Bumps VERSION to 0.65.1 and adds the release note for the backfill fix
(immediate "get full history" now completes channels over ~3000 videos in
one run) plus the per-page durability + centralized reserve-guard hardening.
Bump VERSION to 0.65.0 and add the user-facing release notes for R14
(zoom-fit manager table, ✓ charm, N/S/L moved to the channel page,
live-refresh, immediate "get full history").
Bump VERSION to 0.64.0 and add the user-facing release-notes entry for
the R13 sprint (unified sort/filter controls, Hidden channels tab,
channel-manager toolbar declutter, filter-rail jitter fix).
VERSION bump + chores release note for the R10 .btn-primary/.btn-danger/.btn-warn
recipe unification (refactor; a few primary buttons gained the standard hover).
The app-wide 'glass over image' tier: panels stay near-opaque (surface 90%, menu 100%)
so chrome text is readable, but glass-card drops to 50% so the per-scheme backdrop image
gently shows through the feed cards (blur 22, inset 10). User-tuned via the live GlassTuner
and validated ("the image just barely shows through, text still readable"); supersedes the
uniform-88% pass that had killed the image-through-cards look. Only the data-backdrop=on
tier — :root (image off) and .glass-media (Plex art) unchanged.
The surface's onMouseLeave nulled hoverIndex, so moving the pointer off a menu snapped the highlight
back to activeIndex — the first item in a menu with a free-text input (ChannelTags), where the field
swallows arrow keys so there is no list-nav holding a keyboard position. The keyboard and typeahead
already reclaim the highlight by nulling hoverIndex in onNavigate/onMatch, so the mouseleave reset was
redundant; dropping it keeps the last hover. 0.60.3.
Root cause: html[data-backdrop="on"] and .glass-media shared ONE translucent tier, so a value tuned for
Plex art (meant to show its poster through) was forced onto the whole app — over the feed, the nav and
popovers read straight through it. Split them: the app-wide background-image tier is now near-opaque
(surface 88% / card 90% / menu 93% / blur 22px), while the Plex-art tier stays translucent (72/80/85/14).
Tuned live on the user's prod session (50% -> 72% was still too see-through; 88% reads clean). 0.60.2.
With a background image on, glass surfaces used surface-alpha 50% + 10px blur, so the feed read
straight THROUGH the nav/menus/popovers (user-reported: distractingly transparent). Raised to
72%/80%/85% + 14px blur — the backdrop image still shows as soft colour, but content behind no longer
punches through. Verified in-browser: nav bg alpha 0.5 -> 0.72, no inline override on a clean pref.
Cuts the v4 (Tailwind migration) + focus/a11y foundation work for release. User-facing note covers the
app-wide keyboard-focus ring, steadier menu highlights, the three previously-invisible focus inputs,
and keyboard-reachable saved-view row actions; the v4 migration and dead-style cleanup are listed as
chores.
Reported: on iPad Brave a shared video's audio still stopped when backgrounded, while youtube.com
keeps playing. Root cause: routing the element's audio through createMediaElementSource pulls it out
of the normal media pipeline the browser's background-playback feature (and iOS) hooks into, and iOS
then suspends the AudioContext on background — the opposite of the goal. YouTube uses a plain media
element + Media Session and lets the browser background it. So drop the Web Audio graph entirely and
keep only the Media Session metadata + play/pause handlers, leaving native background handling in
charge. Frontend-only.
Facebook's scraper rejected our self-hosted poster as "Corrupted Image": the poster is an
ffmpeg-produced JPEG (non-standard marker order) that browsers/iOS/Twitter decode fine but FB's
stricter processor won't. For a YouTube source, point og:image at the video's stable, non-expiring
`i.ytimg.com/vi/<id>/hqdefault.jpg` (a Google-encoded JPEG FB decodes reliably) built from the id in
the stored thumbnail — instead of the stored `sqp`-signed variant, which can expire. Non-YouTube
sources keep the poster fallback (fine everywhere but FB). Declares 480×360 so FB includes it on the
first async scrape. og.py only — no schema change.
